29th Infantry Regiment

29th Infantry Regiment (also called 1st Trans-Mississippi Regiment or 39th Regiment after April 1863) was formed during the summer of 1862. It served in McRae's and Roane's Brigade and fought at Prairie Grove and Helena. Later the unit was reorganized and mounted, moved with General Price to Missouri, and disbanded in the spring of 1865. The field officers were Colonels Robert A. Hart, A. J. McNeill, and James W. Rogan; Lieutenant Colonels G. W. Baldwin and Paul M. Cobbs; and Majors Martin Dawson and Joseph C. Martin.
