Tucker's Infantry Regiment
Tucker's Infantry Regiment, formerly the 1st
Foreign Battalion Infantry, was organized in December, 1864, with
British nationals. For a time the unit served in the Department
of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, then was transferred
to the Army of Tennessee. It participated in the North Carolina
Campaign and was included in the surrender on April 26, 1865.
The regiment was commanded by Colonel Julius G. Tucker.
