This company was enrolled in Columbus, Georgia and received orders on the 16th April 1861, from Governor Joseph E. Brown to report to General A. R. Lawton at Savannah, Georgia and arrived there April 17, 1861. Left Savannah and arrived at Tybee Island April 21st. Was mustered into the service of the Confederate States on the 9th of May 1861, by Major W. M. Gardner. Left Tybee Island on June 1st and arrived at Camp Semmes, near Brunswick, Georgia, June 2, 1861. Ordered to Richmond, Virginia July 24, 1861, and arrived there July 29, 1861. Left Richmond, and arrived at Camp Bee, Brooks Station, near Aquia Creek, August 15, 1861. Left Camp Bee August 24, 1861 and arrived at Manassas Junction, Virginia August 26th. Left Manassas Junction, September 10, 1861 and marched to camp near Taylor's House, four miles from Centreville, Virginia On September 16th moved camp three miles in direction of Fairfax Court House, Virginia, on old Braddock road. On the 23rd September the regiment was ordered to Falls Church for post duty until morning of the 30th, returned then to camp until the 16th of October 1861, when it fell back to camp between cut and Rocky Run, near Centreville, Virginia On October 20th ordered out for post duty for three days and returned to camp morning of the 23rd October.
