Barclay, A. A. E. W. -- Private - January 3, 1861, Captain A. C. Davenport's Independent Company GVC, 3rd Brigade, Georgia State Troops. Term of service 60 days. Enlisted as a private in Company B, 18th Battalion Georgia Infantry May 31, 1861. Transferred to Company 6, 1st Regiment Georgia Infantry (Olmstead's), April 29, 1862; to C. S. Navy, in exchange for E. D. Fisher, December 31, 1863. As Master's Mate of Steamer Resolute he was captured at Fort McAllister, Georgia December 13, 1864. Sent to City Point, Virginia for exchange February 27, 1865. As Acting Master's Mate, P. N. C. S., he requested furlough at Augusta, Georgia until exchanged March 22, 1865.

S. bark Tuscaloosa (formerly the American bark, Conrad). Remained on the Tuscaloosa to December 27, 1863, when she was seized by the British authorities at Saint Simon's Sound, Isle of Good Hope. After that he was ordered to join the Rappahannock at Calais, France, but no record has been found to show that he ever joined her.
