The unit was assigned to W.Adams', Mabry's, Starke's Brigade and fought the Federals in Tennessee and Mississippi. In the engagement at Harrisburg it reported 52 casualties. Only a remnant surrendered with the Department of Alabama, Mississippi, and East Louisiana. Its commanders were Colonel C.C. Wilbourn, Lieutenant Colonels Cornelius McLaurin and Thomas R.
