Collins' Light Artillery [also called 2nd Battery] was organized during the winter of 1863-1864. It served with General Shelby in his operations from Camden to Little Rock and Price's Missouri Expedition. The unit sustained 5 casualties with Shelby and 3 with Price. In June, 1865, it was in Northern Texas and was included in the surrender June 2, 1865. Captain Richard A. Collins was in command.
