Lowe's Artillery Company (Jackson Battery)

Taken from a parole list following the fall of Vicksburg, Mississippi (July 4 1863) where Lowe's Battery surrendered. First known as "Jackson Artillery", organized in early 1862, its founding Commander was Capt. William Lucas. At surrender in Vicksburg, Capt. Schuyler Lowe was its commander. After exchange it was consolidated with the 3rd Missouri Artillery ("St. Louis Artillery").
