Wade's-Walsh's Battery

Wade's-Walsh's Battery was organized during the early spring of 1862 with men who had served in the Missouri State Guard. It moved east of the Mississippi River and in May totaled 107 effectives. The unit was active at luka and lost I killed and 2 missing at Corinth. It then was assigned to Bowen's Brigade in the Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana and endured the hardships of the Vicksburg operations. The battery was captured in July, 1863, but after the exchange it was not reorganized. The company was commanded by Captains William Wade and R. C. Walsh.
