Hunter's Cavalry Regiment


Hunter's Cavalry Regiment was organized during the spring of 1864 and served in General Shelby's and Colonel S. D. Jackman's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department. It skirmished in various conflicts in Arkansas, sustained 4 casualties at Marks' Mills, then saw action in Price's Missouri Expedition. The regiment returned to Arkansas and disbanded prior to the surrender in June, 1865. Its commander was De Witt C. Hunter.
