4th Cavalry Regiment Arizona Brigade

4th Cavalry Regiment Arizona Brigade was organized during the fall of 1861 and served with the Army of New Mexico. Later it was transferred to the Trans-Mississippi Department and confronted the Federals in Texas, mostly in the lower Rio Grande area. The unit was included in the surrender on June 2, 1865. The field officers were Colonel Spruce M. Baird, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Showalter and Major Edward Riordan.
