Par. from Pt. Lookout 3-1-64 (approx.). Admitted 3-6-64 to Chimborazo Hosp. #9 with gunshot wound to left foot. Furl. 3-11-64 for 30 days with note "paroled prisoner from Camp Lee." Real estate broker in Los Angeles - Ca. in 1895 thru 1909. Brother of Ranger Maj. Adolphus Edward Richards.

Resigned commission 11-1-62 due to Ill health (chronic diarrhea). Applied in 1863 for position of Judge Advocate of the Cav. Corps Court. Attempted to recruit a company of partisan rangers in the Northern Neck in the Fall of 1864. Joined the 43rd Va. Cav. (date unknown). Prom. to 1st Lt., Co.
