141st Regiment Infantry

Failed to complete organization. Enlisted men transferred to 140th Indiana Infantry

Under the call of July 18, 1864, the commandant of the camp of rendezvous for the Third Congressional District, was instructed to raise an infantry regiment for one year service, to be designated the One Hundred and Forty-First.  The attempt was unsucessful, and the companies and detachments of recruits were ordered to be consolidated with the One Hundred and Fortieth Regiment, with which organization they served during its continuance in service.
